Why We Love It
We love Metamorphika Xarel.lo because it places Catalonia's essential white grape at the centre, wrapped in texture but never aggression.
Description
Metamorphika Xarel.lo is an orange wine made from 100% Xarel.lo. The maceration is beautifully judged: lively, balanced and full of character, with soft supple tannins from amphora work. The wine has taste and personality, but remains clean, precise and far from aggressive.

About the Producer
Costador, led by Joan Franquet, works with old vineyards across Catalonia to create wines of striking personality and precision. The Metamorphika range is immediately recognisable for its beautiful ceramic bottles and artwork, but the true achievement is the quality inside: wines that are precise, clean, expressive and deeply gastronomic. Costador proves that low-intervention wine can be both characterful and exceptionally polished, which is why the wines have found their way into some of Catalonia's finest restaurants, including Michelin-starred tables.
